Christians Against Poverty

Christians Against Poverty has become a large part of the Greenlane church and community. It is a debt counselling charity which works in partnership with Greenlane to help those dealing with tough financial stress or poverty.

The church works as the face and feet of CAP, and trains volunteers within the church to be 'CAP Money Coaches'. They then hold CAP Money events which are free, and are a three session based course in which guests can receive tips and help on managing their debt. Having CAP in the Greenlane community is a fantastic way to expand the fellowship and service within the church. Not only are volunteers assisting people who have lived fearfully in debt, but they are providing an outreach that echoes into all aspects of life. CAP encourages those who want to volunteer and be a part of this ministry.

Many Money Coaches tell amazing stories, where they have seen families grow and come together through the course. Being a part of something that sees kids go to school with lunch instead of hungry, and marriages saved is part of the motivation that sees this ministry thrive. CAP has seen over 50 people come to Christ throughout their short time in NZ, and is continuing their outreach into the community.

To be a part of this ministry, you can join a church based activity, or rather look towards supporting CAP financially, working as a volunteer or even just prayer for the ministry.
